Fourth Day Filming 9/12/15
Wednesday 9/12/15
Today we went back to Muswell Hill (Onslow Gardens) to reshoot some of our footage. We decided to do this because the shot of the church and religious billboard (our establishing shots) were very shaky and uneven. Then we reshot the scene of the killer taking out the "weapons" because when we looked back at our rough layout of our footage we realized that we had shot the taking out of the objects separately so it didn't show continuity and made it look harsh due to weird transition between the two shots. Making sure the footage was recorded, we looked at all the footage to make sure we didn't have anything else that looked wrong. Lastly, we shot the scene of the extras (normal people walking in the forest, crossing paths with the killer) and then we finished all our shooting.

Third Day Editing 7/12/15
Wednesday 7/12/15
Today was the third day editing, we each focused on different aspects of our title sequence from, making sure our blog was up to date and transferring and looking over the sound we plan to use for our sequence. The main aspect was the editing of our sequence, we put the shots that we filmed (saturday 5th) in the correct order which was important due to the range of close ups we filmed . We found that there are some close ups which we have to re-shoot, This is due to the camera being paused while filming . we plan to re-shoot on (wednesday 9th) this will be our last day of filming , we hope to have all the shots needed by this date.

Third Day Filming 5/12/15
Saturday 5/12/15
Today we continued to film in Muswell Hill"Onslow Gardens"
We focused on filming our main character (Kusheda Begum). We shot close ups and extreme close ups so our title sequence has a range of different shots. We also shot a digging scene where we had to make sure we kept all the props exactly were they were when changing the position of the camera to show continuity. Finally we filmed the ending scene which was a long shot.
Some problems we faced while filming was interruptions. As this is a common forest for walking dogs we had to stop filming at times, also due to the unstable ground Kusheda fell . This emphasises the importance of paying attention and we will take this will be taken in to consideration during future filming
Next time we film(9th December) we aim to re shoot some establishing shots.

Second Day Editing 2/12/15
Wednesday 2/12/15
Last lesson we asked Louisa to sign a release form for equipment we intended to film on wednesday at Muswell Hill for the lesson and be back around 2pm to hand back the equipment. We also told Rebbecca but we made the mistake of not making a formal blog post or email her in advanced so she would know where we were.On wednesday we planned to meet at 10:30 at Muswell Hill. However there was severe traffic which we were told by one of the drivers would last for another 2+ hours and every 43 bus was terminating at Angel. By this time we had noticed the weather had dramatically changed which intern would affect the continuity of our opening title as we had previously filmed with the tone being so dim. Due to this we were forced to cancel the planned filming.
In the light of this we used the time he had left to finish editing the establishing shoots we filmed when we were in Muswell hill, which we have now completed.
Saturday 5/12/15
On Saturday at 10am, we are going meet up at Muswell Hill where we plan to start shooting the action footage. We are going to film a variation of camera shoots such as canted shots, close ups and extreme close ups. We intend to film all of this footage on saturday however if we do need any extra time we will also spend next wednesday filming any final shots.

First Day Editing 30/11/15
This is the Camtasia of what we did during our Monday lesson, we began to edit our establishing shots and have decided that on Wednesday and Saturday we are aiming to finish all our filming.
In our footage we realised that a few of our shots were unstable due to uneven-ground and shooting on a hill, we will try to make the tripod more stable during the rest of our footage.

Second Day Filming 28/11/15
Today we went on to do more establishing shots but these shots where taken at muswell hill and inside the onslow gardens. We took panning shots and also some close ups, as well as, some long shots. As Simba was running late the rest of us decided that Kusheda would take the role of the main character as we thought the idea of a female killer made the film plot much more mysterious and exciting. We also began filming our main character (Kusheda) in the area outside the forest to show establishment of the location and to show the killer's journey to the forest. The shots we took were a long shot panning of her walking up a steep road, a close up of a religious poster (this was inspired by stepfather by the way he was playing religious hymns but he was in fact a killer) this is to make the title sequence look ordinary and like the major conventions of any thriller on this false plato idea. We also had shots of the church and did a few match cuts including panning of the killer entering the forest. We feel time keeping is quite difficult for particular member(s) in our group and this is something that needs to be worked on. Next week we plan to continue filming in queens forest and get some extreme close ups and medium shots and a canted shot which adds to the main plot of our title sequence.Since Kusheda is now the killer we changed her costume to this:

Location Evaluation
Location Evaluation
Queens wood (London):
Queens forest was great a great filming location, as it gives the sense of a large secluded forest. It was important we arrived at a good time as due to it being winter it becomes dark early (around 4pm)
We aimed to arrive between 9am to 12pm depending on our individual schedule.
Different factors determined how successful our filming was. It was difficult to film if it had previously rained (possibly the day before), This was because the ground and leaves would be damp, also certain areas would be left muddy ,making it difficult to walk through. This was a hazard as it was easier to slip and injury your self .
Queens wood is a public park so if we hard a large group while filming we would have needed permission from the borough

First Day Filming 25/11/15
Today we went to an area around Angel (Thornhill) to get some establishing shots before going to our actual filming location, which is in Muswell Hill. The reason we did establishing shots in a different area today was because some of us have a lesson after lunch so we didnt want to go all the way to Muswell Hill, but we wanted to use the time to get some useful establishing shots.
On Saturday we will be going to Muswell hill to start filming more establishing shots and possibly film some of the action in our opening.

41. Pitch Feedback:
Pitch Feedback:
In our Pitch we had various responses to how we presented the information about our film opening. We were told that we were very descriptive and gave very good examples on how and the method we would use to obtain what we had described in our storyboard, for instance, we showed where each shot would be placed by visiting our location before hand to ensure it was able to be filmed in. Our ideas were well thought out and had developed since we first had explained our idea a while back. By using the format prezi it was said that we were much more informative but it was also said that we didn't speak up and our voices could have been louder. However our sound scope was not clear and could have been more punctual by having actual sounds to show them rather then just and explanation. The feedback also said that our risk assessment was thought out very well and our responses to if such things did occur was reasonable and explained well.
Some things that people were confused about was the shot we wanted to incorporated into our film where a rope would be swinging from a tree to create suspense and confusion to the viewers. The reason people were confused was because they thought that an actual person would be swinging from the rope but we quickly corrected the confusion as we were not doing that but simply just having a rope swinging from the tree.

33: Branding our blog
For the branding of the blog I decided to use images of dusky and eerie trees in a forest as it ties in with the theme of our opening. I made the task bars and text in dark shades of black and grey to give the same atmosphere of the thriller.

Favourite Thriller
No Good Deed
I may not be the biggest fan of Thriller films, but my favourite thriller by far is No Good Deed(2014). It follows a serial on the run from police officers, he is trying to get revenge on his ex-partner and her current boyfriend.
This movie appeals to me as it is real life situations with a plot twist of a psychopath serial killer. This I enjoyed this film as there were a range of unexpected moments. The use of romance and lust also made the film exciting to watch. I also enjoyed this film as there where not to many gory, bloody scenes which appeal to some audiences.
Title Sequence
I feel this film had a very effective title sequence. Sound is used at the beginning of the title sequence, A news report which gives the background information of the main character, While the news report speaks there is use of slow pace music gives the senses of uncertainty as the music builds up in tempo. The titles are presented in medium font ,in the colour red which can connote to represent blood. There is a range of different shots used in this title sequence ; panning, close ups, tracking.

31. Final Ideas:
31. Final Ideas:
Film Name: Along the path:
Establishing shots of the locations and area. A forrest is the key area, slowly we learn the place is actually abandoned.
A young adult walking through the forrest, the camera follows behind him from different shots. He is listening to music with headphones. There are foley sounds of birds chirping and ambient sounds, noise made from items moving inside his bag. The forrest becomes more dense as he walks closer to the centre. The young adults moves towards the ground, where he has buried the body of someone he has killed. Camera shows close up, using a canted shot as here begins to bury the tools used to kill his victims. During this he uncovers one of the victims hands within the ground then proceds to cover up his tracks.

After reflecting on the stages and things we would have to do to produce a teen drama title sequence we have decided to change the genre to a thriller as we feel that we would have bigger ideas and could relate more to it.

21. Practical remake activity Evaluation
Evaluation
We recreated the title sequence of a Gone Girl we started but taking note of the sequence in order to form a storyboard and a shots list. I think this was successful as we managed to make a detailed shots list which would help us remake the sequence accurately. To back this we also made a storyboard to capture a combination of what we saw on screen to go with our shots. This was a success as we were able to capture the key scene which contribute to the essence of the title sequence in order to bring in the audience.
However when it came to filming the sequence we struggled to get all the shots we wrote down due to poor time keeping and location factors like being unable to get to certain areas we needed for the shots. Although we didn't get all the shots down we managed to get enough to build the title sequence and for it to get the tone and atmosphere across to the audience. We were also able to incorporate the voice over to go with the title sequence which was a success as we were able to match the actual title sequence.
Editing of the sequence was good due to us knowing the order of the scenes so we managed to bring everything together with the final cut coming out pretty good for our second prelim.
27. Audience profile
Audience Profile
High School Musical 3 & Mean Girls Genre: Teen Drama
Statistics about High School Musical & Mean Girls
Although the genres may be similar the audience share different characteristics in comparison. For example One audience prefers beyonce as an artist but others One direction but on the other hand we are able to see the similarities such as they both have general interests of people and celebrities.
Genre Change
Genre change
Reflecting back on our creative ideas and research to produce a teen drama, our group have collectively decided to change the genre of our title sequence to a Thriller. We believe this will allow our group to successfully create a great title sequence.
30.) Half term planning - mise-en-scene ideas
Some of the ideas we had included black clothing on the killer, to represent his purpose in the film, and to contrast we were thinking to make every other character (if any) wear brighter, or more detailed clothing. We most probably wont be needing any makeup as we wont have any dead peoples' faces in our opening. We might need a fake hand to use as the dead persons hand, however we thought this could be achieved simply by using a real hand, but not getting the persons whole body in the shot, as it will be an extreme close up.
Props we will be using might include a rope, to hang from the tree, a duffle bag, which will be held by the killer and it may contain weapons, we might include a spade for the killer to use in the opening too.

Part 1
Clock ticking, This sound can represent someone in class waiting for the lesson to end. Gives the feeling of the main character being bored. Car starting represents the main character getting ready to drive away. The traffic represents the character living in the city and gives a sense of the setting and characters lifestyle.
Part 2
2. The car backfire sound was created by Adila by pulling the elastic of the notebook and letting it spring back to make a loud shot noise.
3. The hailstones was created by Kadisha by typing on keyboard to give the effect of hailstones dropping and hitting the ground.

27. Create an audience profile for your ideal target audience member
Our typical audience member could be a young male or female (most likely female) because most young males prefer action movies, or if they like thrillers, it will most likely be action thrillers. Young females tend to enjoy a suspense filled crime thriller.
The age group we would think would like to watch our movie would be between ages 16-26. The reason for this is because anyone younger than 16 or even 18 may find crime thrillers disturbing as there would be violent scenes. Similarly, anyone over 26 will most likely be more interested in movies that have less shots, and more action, that would make them think rather than enjoy fast shots and loud sounds. Moreover, over 26's wont usually be classified as 'young' adults, instead they may even have families and therefore prefer watching a family movie.

26. Who is our target audience?
Ask target audience which of our groups idea do they prefer, how will it appeal to them?
- Thriller that doesn't give too much away but gives enough information away to set the genre, and give the audience a sense of what the movie is about, but at the same time, be engaging, raise questions, and makes the audience want to watch the rest of the film.

26. Who is your target audience?
26. Who is your target audience?
Audience:
My target audience is teenagers aged 15-18 both male and female. I chose this age range as i believe this age range isn't that big and will watch the same types of films. If I had picked an age range of 13-18 i feel that it would have been to big as films that a 13 year old watches will be too childish for an 18 year old and if it was the other way round the film would be too mature. My genre is a Teen Drama that will have coming of age and rebel involved so i though it would fit this age range.

24. Blog your own individual idea for a title sequence
In my title sequence i would want to give clues about the plot, but not too much. It cant be too exciting or it might set high expectations for the rest of the movie.
-Camera: extreme close ups, wide shots (to get background, work)
Genre: Thriller
Plot: Disturbed child who had a bad childhood, parents who seemed careless etc.
Grows up and has a good job, seems like a nice person, but isn't right in the head, because of the way she was treated as a child. Family is introduced in a flashback, a diary (her mothers), which had a record of all the strange things the child did at a young age, but wasnt old enough to realise it wasnt normal. (Mothers voice heard reading out bits of it, over lapped speech etc)

24. Individual idea/Outline for title sequence:
24. Individual idea/Outline for title sequence:
I would liked my title sequence to be stylised so it has a mixture
of narrative and discrete title sequences as it will give off a combined
effect. I prefer this style as i would like the information and the story-line
to be quite vague but also allow the tone and atmosphere to be set, this
is to not have the risk of setting out a high expectation and then not being
able to fulfill it. I would like the title sequence to be over moving
images to show a metaphor and narrative thread, with non-diegetic sound
and no dialogue so not much is given away. The use of these two will make help
suspend disbelief.
Genre: Thriller
Title sequence: Shots of the neighbourhood, quick transitions and flashbacks of the same
place in the past, Shots of the family inside, close up of mother calling child to wake up, close up of dad eating. Wide shot of little boys room. Canted shot of the boy sleeping to set the tone. Then an over the shoulder shot
of one of the other children (who haven’t come to the neighbour hood yet)
watching him sleep. Birds eye view shot of home.
Plot: Anxious and curious child who draws things he sees, has a
nightmare about the paranormal events that happened in the neighbourhood, in
the past. He starts drawing the images he saw, parents get worried but don’t do
much. People move into the house next door. Child makes friends with the
children next door but they aren’t who they say they are.
Camera: close ups to introduce characters, wide shots and long
shots to set location, canted shots to show the atmosphere of the story.
Social groups introduced: neighbourhood friends
Main character: Small child
