(What do we expect to see in a Film's Opening Title Sequence)

In a title sequence we expect to see:

  • Sound to set the scene
  • Setting of the location
  • Introduction of genre
  • Suspending disbelief

What font type is used for the titles?
Serif and Dominant Font, that is larger for the name of the person than the actually title
How do we see the font?
The font is simply faded in and faded out on top of the moving images.
What happens behind the font?
Behind the font are shots of elements that are making up the movie. The use of red and amour wear give a good clear image to the audience to let them know what the film is about.
What do you like about this sequence?
It gives a really clear feel to the film due to the darkness and use of sound, it gives of a dramatic feel to it.

Which credits do we see and what order are they in?
In this film we see several producers names at the beginning followed by the direction, main actor, second main actor, the films name, cast, the casting director, production team, ect.
What font type is used for the titles?
The fonts become a part of the title sequence images through animation using a sans serif font
How do we see the font?
The writing and titles are part of the animation as if a simple black strip molds into different letters and part of the cinematic animation, for instance the the title is attached to the chair the figure is sitting on.
What happens behind the font?
Behind the font is the animation showing the main character and how he transforms into different people before the detective can even begin to find out who the criminal is, hence the name 'catch me if you can'.
What do you like about this sequence?
The title sequence is an animation making it more interactive and exciting.
